A City of Books

Powells is an independent bookstore located in Portland, Oregon. Inside it has multiple levels and rooms, its a bibliophile's dream.

Not only do they have all of the newest releases but they also have used books. While I was there I picked up some original hardcover editions of Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter novels for about $10 each and in great condition.
There are five different locations in Portland. The largest location is in the center of the city and has over a million books. That's what they say, and frankly after walking through the store, I believe it. I could have spent all day in that bookstore. I envy the people who live so close to it.

*My restaurant recommendation: Holsteins
Holsteins is an awesome burger place that also serves the most amazing appetizers. I personally recommend the Cheeseburger Egg Rolls. They weren't on the menu when I went but the servers will know what you're talking about. 'The Rising Sun' was an amazing burger and 'Captain Hook' was a phenomenal salmon burger.

While I was in Oregon my family and I explored the coast and I found two cute little bookshops along the way.
First I went to Beach Books in Seaside, Oregon. I bought a little journal I've been filling with quotes. Then in Astoria, Oregon I went to Lucy's Books. The owner of the bookshop had lots of recommendations for a variety of books.
Thanks for reading!
